Effects of early endometriosis on IVF-ET outcomes
Early-stage endometriosis was associated with increased gonadotropin requirements, fewer high-quality embryos, and lower pregnancy and live birth rates during IVF-ET cycles.

This study examined IVF-ET outcomes in women under 40 with unexplained infertility by enrolling 35 participants and comparing 18 with stage I/II endometriosis (39 IVF-ET cycles) to 17 without endometriosis (41 cycles). The endometriosis group required higher total gonadotropin, had a lower percentage of high-quality embryos among fertilized eggs (9.0% vs 16.3%), and showed lower pregnancy and live birth rates (33.3% vs 41.5% and 25.6% vs 34.1%). The authors reported that no statistically significant overall effect on IVF-ET outcome was observed, with the caveat that ovarian response and embryo quality appeared reduced in stage I/II endometriosis. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically early-stage (stage I/II) endometriosis effects on IVF-ET outcomes and embryo quality.
