This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial evaluated oral Lactobacillus gasseri OLL2809 (100 mg once daily for 12 weeks) in 66 clinically diagnosed endometriosis patients, with 62 completing the study, to assess effects on menstrual pain and dysmenorrhea. Pain intensity during menstruation measured by visual analog scale and dysmenorrhea measured by verbal rating scale both improved significantly more with the active probiotic than with placebo. Blood and biochemical blood examinations showed no significant changes, and no adverse effects were reported. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it tests L. gasseri OLL2809 and reports improved menstrual pain and dysmenorrhea in endometriosis patients.
