Fibrosis and smooth muscle metaplasia in rectovaginal endometriosis
This study examined rectovaginal endometriosis tissues and found that fibrosis significantly increases with endometriotic tissue growth, and smooth muscle metaplasia appears within fibrotic areas and intensifies with fibrosis.
