Abstract

This article raises current issues of the use of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in women suffering from hyperplastic conditions in gynecology. Such diseases include: uterine fibroids, endometriosis, endometrial hyperplasia, and endometrial cancer. The article pays special attention to the pathophysiological aspects of the action of this hormone, reveals its positive pharmacological properties, as well as negative, undesirable properties (side effects). Some etiopathogenetic aspects of the development of hyperplastic diseases in gynecology and the points of influence of GnRH on them are touched upon. This article examines the general principles of pharmacological treatment of hyperplastic processes with GnRH, and also compares it with other drugs: the advantages and disadvantages of treatment methods are described.
