Abstract

Abstract A 32‐year‐old woman was admitted to our department with recurrent hemoptysis coincident with the onset of her menses. Chest computed tomography revealed a cyst in the left S 4 area of the lung and, during the menses, ill‐defined opacity with blood oozing from the cyst. Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging revealed adenomyomatosis uteri and endometriosis of the right ovary. Bronchoscopic washing was carried out at the left B 4 , but no endometrial tissue was obtained. The patient refused hormone therapy, so left S 4+5 segmentectomy was carried out thoracoscopically. The histopathological examination of the resected specimen revealed typical findings of endometrial tissue. The postoperative course was favorable with no further episodes of hemoptysis.
