Abstract

Objective: To analyze CT manifestations of ovarian endometriotic cysts and improve the diagnostic level. Materials and Methods: The CT materials of 32 cases of ovarian endometriotic cysts proved by surgery and pathology were analysed. Results: Of the 45 cysts, the shape was oval or round in 42 cysts, irregular in 3 cysts. The size of the cysts ranged from 1.0cm to 13.5cm, the mean diameter was 6.0cm. It was uniloculor in 21 cysts and multiloculor in 24 cysts. The satellite sign was seen in 11 cysts. Most of the cysts had high density, CT value is more than 30Hu in 24 cysts, 20~30Hu in 11 cysts, less than 20Hu in 10 cysts. Six cysts had focal hyperdense area. The cystic wall was seen in 38 cysts and the wall had light or moderate contrast enhancement. The cysts adhered to uterus, rectumsigmoid colon, bladder in different degree. The triplet sign was seen in 8 cases. Conclusion: Ovarian endometriotic cysts had characteristic manifestations. Combining the imaging signs with the clinical symptoms can improve the diagnostic level.
