This study reviewed biopsies of suspected peritoneal endometriosis, finding that less than half met diagnostic criteria, with non-diagnostic biopsies often showing features like hemosiderin-laden macrophages, and patients on hormonal therapy were less likely to receive a pathologic diagnosis.
