Sometimes a genetic aetiology is clearly evident. In other disorders heritable tendencies exist, but the precise genetic aetiology remains obscure. In this communication we shall consider the genetics of selected common causes of female infertility: premature ovarian failure; leiomyomata; polycystic ovarian disease; endometriosis. Not discussed here are disorders of gonadal differentiation primarily causing gonadal failure and disorders of female internal ducts, both considered elsewhere by the author and colleagues. The current contribution inevitably mirrors these other publications.\n- Type\n- Research Article\n- Information\n- Copyright\n- © 2000 Cambridge University Press\n- 7\n- Cited by\nCited by\nCrossref Citations\nSIMPSON, JOE LEIGH\nand\nBISCHOFF, FARIDEH Z.\n2002.\nHeritability and Molecular Genetic Studies of Endometriosis.\nAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences,\nVol. 955,\nIssue. 1,\np.\n239.\nSimpson, Joe Leigh\nBischoff, Farideh Z\nKamat, Aparna\nBuster, John E\nand\nCarson, Sandra A\n2003.\nGenetics of endometriosis.\nObstetrics and Gynecology Clinics of North America,\nVol. 30,\nIssue. 1,\np.\n21.\nAmato, Paula\nand\nSimpson, Joe Leigh\n2004.\nThe genetics of polycystic ovary syndrome.\nBest Practice & Research Clinical Obstetrics & Gynaecology,\nVol. 18,\nIssue. 5,\np.\n707.\nAmato, P.\nand\nSimpson, J.-L.\n2006.\nGénétique du syndrome des ovaires polykystiques.\nEMC - Gynécologie,\nVol. 21,\nIssue. 1,\np.\n1.\nAmato, P.\nand\nSimpson, J.-L.\n2006.\nGenética del síndrome de ovarios poliquísticos.\nEMC - Ginecología-Obstetricia,\nVol. 42,\nIssue. 2,\np.\n1.\nZorrilla, Michelle\nand\nYatsenko, Alexander N.\n2013.\nThe Genetics of Infertility: Current Status of the Field.\nCurrent Genetic Medicine Reports,\nVol. 1,\nIssue. 4,\np.\n247.\nRogenhofer, Nina\nEngels, Laura\nBogdanova, Nadja\nTüttelmann, Frank\nThaler, Christian J.\nand\nMarkoff, Arseni\n2013.\nIndependent association of the M2/ANXA5 haplotype with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) in PCOS patients.\nMetabolism,\nVol. 62,\nIssue. 8,\np.\n1057.","source_license":"CC0","license_restricted":false}
